The second phase of Zenless Zone Zero’s 2.6 update has finally been released to the joys of many players, but unlocks the inevitable new materials grind. For Anomaly units like the new Aria for example, she requires lots of upgrading if you want her to shine as your true Main DPS. She’s strong at her base level already, but she’ll need those upgrades for those tougher bosses. When paired with Yuzuha, Aria can get some insane buffs too that can also be upgraded through materials. Here’s an entire materials list for every unit pulled from the current banners.
🤔 How Materials Work
Materials in Zenless Zone Zero help improve each unit’s stats, kit moves and combos, and how effective they are in battle overall. It’s one thing to pull for a top ranked or tiered character, but another thing entirely when considering their upgrades and how much they rely on them. Some very powerful units practically require certain material upgrades in specific areas compared to others. Meanwhile, some units see materials and upgrades as more of a cherry on top of their kit rather than a necessity. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what you and your teams need and what your unit is lacking in. Need some more pulls for the banners? Get a zenless zone zero top up cheap now!
As for grinding for the materials themselves, that of course depends on what kind of materials you’re looking for. While some materials can be easily gathered through completing quests when you’re still working through the story, this becomes harder as you get more into the end-game. Quests become less frequent as you’re waiting for each major update in between. That’s where dungeons and repeat bosses or fights come in for veteran players to grind for the off-chance of getting the materials they need in the bag.
🤖 Aria’s Materials

Aria is the spotlighted debut character during this second phase update. She’s a strong plunging Ether based Anomaly unit that is meant to be the Main DPS of your team. This breaks the common trend of Anomaly units typically being Support or Sustain units instead which is a nice change of pace. However, Aria requires her signature W-Engine to boost her Anomaly Mastery to the fullest. If you don’t have that, then you’re gonna wanna look into her materials as much as possible until you do to make up for it.

🌹 Yuzuha’s Materials

Yuzuha is the rerun S-rank unit in this update and makes for the perfect synergies pairing for Aria. She’s a Support that’s meant to buff her teammates in all aspects, but specializes in the Anomaly Proficiency and Mastery departments. You’re going to want her in full Anomaly teams if you want her kit to be fully utilized. When it comes to her materials, you’ll also want to put a lot of focus in her upgrades for the sake of improving her buffs and cooldowns.

⚡ Anton’s Materials
.png)
Anton is another Main DPS candidate that uses a lot of stunning and Shock elemental moves. This kit does help do some heavy hits to weaker enemies and add some Shock effects for the rest of the team to piggy back off of. Unfortunately, despite being considered a Main DPS, he requires a lot of help with improving his Critical Rate and Energy. When looking at his materials, his Core Skill should be your top priority to get the most lethal damage from him otherwise he’s a bit of a struggle to play in the end-game.

🐺 Seth’s Materials
.png)
Seth is a fantastic Defense unit for Anomaly characters despite being an A-ranker. He has an extra helpful Anomaly Proficiency buff along with the ability to give out shields to protect his party. He also doesn’t need a lot of investment when it comes to materials to shine. He does his job pretty well even at his base value. He’s a great Defense to have on Anomaly teams if you’re looking for something on the low end.
